Ellesmere Island is North America's northernmost landmass. A vast land rising from the sea -- Isolated, mysterious, compelling. Soaring mountain fortresses crowned with glistening ice caps. Immense glacier and towering icebergs. Deep fiords with blowing whales and bobbing seals, ice-floes with grunting walrus and white bears slipping silently into the waters.

Setting out from the most northerly community Grise Fiord (population 148) we load our strong Polar Huskies with backpacks and hike our way through the bursting tundra exploding with life. In a blanket of colors, the migrants from South are hatching, and arctic youngs are reared in the endless day of summer.
