Are the dogs friendly ?
Yes. Our dogs -- the Polar Huskies -- are very friendly. The process of familiarization with human touch begins when they are born. A very strong bond is built between us and the dogs as we live with them from puppy hood till the day they pass on. They are our family, best friends and most respected team mates. As big freight dogs the Polar Huskies can at first seem overwhelming even somewhat intimidating, but it does not take them long to charm you in as they reveal their distinct, loving personalities.

How do I stay warm?
Our expertise is traveling in the Arctic regions executing long expeditions under the toughest possible conditions. We are not super human. We just know a lot of little very effective tricks on how to stay toasty warm and comfortable no matter the temperature. An important part is your gear, which is why we send you a detailed list of suggestions for packing as well as outfit you  with a large parka (fleece 300 w. outer wind shell), mukluks for your feet (native style boots), and a double layered sleeping bag system (rated to 60 below zero). We always go through the gear carefully before heading out on the trail. Another important factor is your level of activity. It is crucial to our trips that our participants take part in all aspects of traveling. It not only makes your experience more fun -- it's a way of staying warm!
