The gate to the very heart of Canada's great wilderness frontier we believe is to be Gillam. - Situated at the very end of the road on the gigantic Nelson River.
From here we dogsled an old rail road bed weaving mysteriously through the trees out to the coast of Hudson Bay. Remains of historic Port Nelson & York Factory (established 300 years ago) lets us experience the lives and legends of the past.

Turning on the coast onto the immense barrens we run along "WAPUSK" National Park home to the   world's largest known Polar Bear denning sites. When out on the sea ice meeting these magnificient animals (mothers and cubs) is very likely. Our journey ends in Churchill -- A striking place.
